Philosophy -- Team Philosophy: It has been recognized
that competitive swimming is one of the most healthful activities for
the human body. In addition, the time spent training, the dedication and
the commitment involved mold young minds into purposeful and determined
adults.
Building on that foundation the Fort Wayne Aquatics philosophy is:
--
1. Nurturing the whole child at every age and recognizing that each one
is unique. Allowing each child to develop as far as their dreams, talents
and efforts will take them.
2. Providing a level of professional coaching that will lead to the development
of world-class swimmers, should they so desire, while at the same time
allowing beginning swimmers to develop character, self-confidence and
a strong work ethic in an atmosphere of caring and consideration for the
individual swimmer and for the group.
3. A commitment to keeping swimming fun while teaching proper stroke technique,
pool etiquette and hard training.
4. Encouraging parents to share in the development and implementation
of the program as well as that of their children.
5. Taking pride in presenting our community and the swimming world with
the accomplishments of our swimmers as individuals, students, citizens
and athletes.
